Temple Square!

On July 28th I took Barry to work so we could go to Temple Square. We were planning on seeing the movie in the Joseph Smith Memorial building, but when we walked past the conference center everyone said they wanted to go up on the roof. Our hostess, Lanee, took us up and showed us everything. I guess the tour usually ends on the roof, but since we had said that was what we wanted to see she took us backwards. We saw the hall of the prophets, where there is a bust of all the previous latter-day prophets. We saw the Book of Mormon gallery, where the original painting of Book of Mormon stories are hung. These are the paintings that are in the blue covered Books of Mormon. One of the primary general presidents had thought that children would enjoy the Book of Mormon more with pictures. The church contracted with Arnold Friberg to paint the pictures. After he had painted a few of them he had to take a break to work on the movie the ten comandments. This is us on the roof of the conference center with the temple in the back ground. More pictures to come later.
