Ballroom Dance School Compitition

Today was the last day of ballroom dance for Emma and Steve. Our school wasn't able to attend the BYU competition this year so the instructors organized a competition at the school just for our classes. They danced the Cha-Cha and the Swing. When they were tabulating the ballots they awarded each student a ribbon. When Steve went up to receive his ribbon he was bowing and grinning. You could see the judges were talking about him and mimicking his demeanor. He has such a cute personality. One of the things that makes him a good dancer is that that shows through when he dances. He was partnered with a sixth grader instead of the partner he's danced with most of the year. Last week he was complaining about his partner. She was giving him a lot of instructions. She's really a performer and a good dancer. They won first in Cha-Cha and the swing! Emily danced in level two. She had two different partners and took third in Cha-Cha and first in Swing. They were really excited. Emily and Jesse have liked each other for quite some time, and when Sammie and I got to the school they told Sammie that they were going out. Jesse is coming home from school with us tomorrow. I talked to his mom on the phone last night and she said they wanted to get together to play. I wonder what she thinks about them "going out." So, it doesn't stress me out too much because they're going to different Jr. Highs and there's only two months of school left. I forgot my camera but haven't gotten a lot of good photos at dance competitions any way. Another parent promised to share the photos he took and there's going to be a DVD that can be purchased as a fundraiser. So I'll get it and hope for some good shots of Emma and Steve.
