Emma's Birthday

Emily's twelth birthday was Saturday. Since she was turning twelve she realy wanted to go to the temple and do baptisms for the dead her first time. She had an interview with the bishop on thursday so she could get her recomend and Saturday morning I took her. She had a wonderful time. Here is emma outside the temple after:
Almost as soon as we walked out side she asked if we could go back in and do more. I promised that I'd take her and Sam again soon.

I guess "baptism for the dead" could sound like a pretty weird thing if you aren't LDS, so maybe a quick expination: We believe that baptism and other essential ordinances are required for salvation. God wouldn't require something of his children and not provide an opportunity for all to qualify, so Latterday saints go to temples to perform ordinances for themselves and on behalf of people who have died with out the opportunity to perform thier own ordinances. The odinance is performed on earth and those who have already passed on have the opportunity to accept the ordinance as thier own.
